This house was built in 1929 for Mr. & Mrs. James Follis who moved to Chilliwack two years later. the next owners were David and Ethel Deane. Mrs. Deane, incidentally, was the daughter of Crescent Island pioneers, Charles F. and Elizabeth Green. The Deanes lived her in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. The house was then sold to the Robertson family after Mrs. Deane died in 1960.

Violet Robertson lived here with her mother, Florence, after the family had retired from farming on Westham Island. Florence died in 1979 and Violet passed away in 1992. Thereafter the large lot was subdivided with the house remaining in the family. On the lot to the south, a large modern home was built in 1994.
