It is unknown whether Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Alonzo Ferguson, one-time proprietors of a dairy in Ladner, made chamges to the original house, which was quite substantial but the local newspaer did report that they were "having large garages built at the rear." Similar in design to the Frederick house that we can see on Arthur Drive, almost directly to the east of this one. The Fergusons later had the house at 4654 51st Street built in 1939.

California Bungalows were distinguished by several notable characteristics: low-pitched roofs, solid porch posts, broad front porches and an open-plan interior. Except for the interior lay-out, we can see that this house had the other distinctive characteristics of a California bungalow, a house design popular into the 1920s.

The house was torn down in 2014 and two houses were built in its place.
